Reflection on my experience
Reflection of your skills in media (analysis and production)prior to the course!
Firstly, prior to the a-level course i had very little knowlege about Media and did not necessarily know what the course consisted of and I was more or less jumping into the unkown. i had not taken media at GCSE but i was intrigued in all the different types of work that they were doing.
From a very young age i have been highly passionate and ardent about movies, especially sci-fi. I am not too keen on horror movies however the thrill fascinates me. i am also pretty 'addicted' to social media which i am not sure whether is a good or bad thing: instagram, facebook, snapchat and twitter are just a small variety of apps which undertake my time. One of my favourite movie genres has to be comedy; no matter what film it is i am guaranteed to laugh - this is probably due down to the fact that i have a very childish manourism. During family holidays i will capture several memories through the lense of my camera, and when i come home i add it all to imovie to create a family video so that we can all re-live the moments.
Additionally, Social media is one of the biggest aspects of my life, it helps me keep up to date with current affairs, general knowledge about society and also the ability to keep in touch with friends. The amount of editting and time which goes into creating a simple clip for a tv programme or movie captivates my attention instantly, the amount of different angles they have to continously do over and over again is breath taking. Lastly, i am excited to study media further and learn more about how movies are processed and developed but also putting together my own short clip and learning about using final cut pro in more detail as i find making movies and clips very alluring.
